The Voices in My Heart

And finally! we’ve all reached the last checkpoint of this Sem. Tomorrow is the last paper and then we’re off! (for 1 freaking week, and then back to business)

Nemind, let’s just be happy coz there are many people in countries like Indonesia and Ethiopia who don’t get holidays - coz the don’t freaking go to school!

now that it’s all gonna end in a lil more than 24 hours, let me take u guys through this whole semester.

Year 2 Sem 1 - somewhere between week 10 and 16
all the lecturers were saying that the next sem is gonna be a very treacherous one… yes, i used the word treacherous.
Not many of us took it seriously at that time. Coz we are people who live for the moment…

Year 2 Semester 2 - Week 1         WEEK 1!!!!
Med micro - Jay distributed journal papers
Mol Gen - Ai lin rattles about the poster of the genetic disease
Pro Tech - Michael: " there will be 2 projects for you to do…."
Bioinfo - No notes are printed coz i want to try a new method of teaching, online. you will have to do practice assessments. you can do as many times as you ant… your main aim: to get a 100%, at least this will secure you __% in ur overall score.
Bioprocess: You have to do a 50 page report on any of the following : insulin, penicillin, cephalosporin.. yada yada yada…

Week 7
Next week is a break because Chritmas and New year fall on that week. and submit your projects on week 9. Week 10 is your common test. All in the notes are to be tested. including chapters covered on week 9. Sorry no tips.
William How: Since i do not want to squeeze Bioinfo common test with all ur other modules, do this test by the end of this week. and no discussing.
WTF… as if he knows if we discussed

Week 8
Ok, am i supposed to study for my common test or do my projects? ok i do my projects. and what happens? no time to study.

week 9 - presentation week
The lecturers then gave us tips.. thatwasthismuchofhelpinthecommontest;whichyouwillfindoutlater.

Week 10 - common test
Ha    Ha     what a joke it was. i was never more unprepared in my entire life. and Hari Raya Haji was on that week too… HELLO?!!!!!!!!

Week 11 - open house
Adeline & AK: Year 2s MUST BE INVOLVED in the open house and must do at least 3 shifts. and oh, CCA points…. i dunno…
Me: didn’t you say this sem is the toughest? why can’t you get the year 1s to do this stuff? are the letters L-O-S-E-R spelt out THAT clearly on our foreheads?
Adeline: We would not ask u for help if we had enough people ourselves
Me: Bull! i found out that it wasn’t compulsary for the Year 1s!!!!

Week 12:
Bioinfo: William says "for the practice assessments, i see that you guys do so well, see (points to our class list with our grades written on it) most of you averaged an A or a B. So i decided to make ur life a living hell. Practice assessments will not show which answers u got right or wrong… and only 3 attempts. and WEAR UR LANYARDS for good.
Then came in protein tech presentation preps, bioprocess presentation preps, due on week 15… week 16 are the exams. good luck

Week 15
usually, this week will be very light weighted. we’d have lessons most to most up to wednesday. BUT NO!!! lessons all as per normal till friday. yes, we know your exams start on the following wednesday on week 16.
Students: But we have very little time to sit and study.
Lecturers: We already told you this sem is tough. you should have planned it well. and sorry, we can’t relax on our marking. we also plan to change the exam format so to suck every ounce of your blood from your body. your exams will also be held on a different location, yes we are trying it for the first time. your exam schedules’ gonna stink…

Week 14: Exam time table is out
1st paper, wednesday 430 to 630pm
2nd paper, thursday 1230 to 230pm
3rd paper, friday 830 to 1030am.

Me: bloody hell.. and we don’t need to sleep!

Apart from all these, please add in SCL Arts rehearsals on saturdays and wednesdays, for which no bugger turns up on time.
Over time for SCL Arts: all nights
Practical Reports: 3 every week, if not 1 big report in a week.

After looking through that… how can this sem be the best.

and oh! i got 2 Bs, 1 C+, 1 D+ and a freaking F for my common test. what a morale booster.

Can’t believe i’m saying this.. but i’m looking forward to my FYP. oh crap.

But i think we really have to give credits to AK and Mic. they really helped us by lighten-ing our burdens thru their tutorials.

To every other lecturer: Keep trying harder, better luck next time.
